The British Farriers and Blacksmiths Association Farrier Focus will take place this year on the 15th & 16th September at The Forge at Stoneleigh and Derek Gardner Farrier Products will be there.       Farrier Focus is a superb day out for all farriers and apprentices and features lectures and clinicians from leading professionals. The event also runs along side the BFBA Team Shoeing Championships. Come and see the stand and speak to Derek, view (and feel!) the range of products and fire away with any questions you may have!

A competition for apprentices is being organised at Gary Darlow's forge in Over Peover, Cheshire and Derek will be judging! This will be great preparation for the Diploma exam and will be an educational event with good feedback. Entries close 10th August 2018. We are delighted to confirm that one of Derek's infamous sledgehammers will be making it's way to Chilliwack B.C. for the Canadian Horseshoeing Championships and will be presented to the winner of the Best Shod Foot. This year's competition is being judged by Jake Engler and will take place on March 22nd - 24th. 5 classes in the open section stand between the competitors and the Championship; the competition also includes the trials for the Canadian Farrier Team. Derek, along with Steven Beane, Ricky Hilton and Nigel Fennell, formed 'Team GB' and travelled to Kentucky for the 2018 World Horseshoeing Classic.  Last year’s Champions, they posted consistently impressive scores, but lost out on the championship this time to finish a very impressive 4th overall. Team GB was one of 7 teams that travelled from the UK, being beaten only by Team Scotland who finished in 3rd. The competition was tough, incredibly well organised and they had a superb time. Derek will be returning to the World Horseshoeing Classic once more to defend the title. "3 days, 18 teams, 72 farriers, one prize -- WORLD CHAMPIONS". Taking place on 21st - 24th February 2018 in Kentucky Derek will be one of the team of four which includes Steven Beane, Nigel Fennell and Ricky Hilton. Ricky takes Darren Bazin's place this year and it has been great to have him back out competing again!
